Serial lookups
Serial and model numbers you enter are used to compute your result. They appear in the result page's address so you can bookmark or share it. We don't link lookups to your identity.
Anonymous decode log
When a result page shows a decoded date, we keep an anonymous record of it so we can learn how old real units are. The record has the brand, equipment type, decoded year and month, the model number you entered, whether your serial could mean more than one date and which you picked, the efficiency and repair-or-replace outcome shown, your state if you chose one, and the hour it happened. It does not include your ZIP code, IP address, browser details, name, contact details or your full serial number. We keep only the first four characters of the serial, which hold the date code, and a one-day scrambled code that stops the same unit being counted twice in a day. We don't connect it to quote requests. We skip it entirely if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Quote requests
If you request quotes, we collect your name, phone, email, ZIP/postal code, equipment and timeline, plus the unit details from your lookup. We store them securely and share them only with contractors or lead partners serving your area, so they can contact you about that request.
